BHOPAL : Though the Vyapam scam was not debated in the House but written replies to the questions posed by the members have put a big question mark on the investigations done by Indore Crime Branch and STF.

Home Minister Babulal Gaur, in his written reply to the questions raised by Congress MLAs admitted that the Indore Police registered a case in connection with Vyapam fraud on July 7, 2013 and one hard disc from the computer of former System Analyst Nitin Mahindra was seized on July 18 and the second one on July 26. The parent computer of Vyapam was not seized. To complete formality, it was stated that Mahindra’s laptop was missing.

It was Mahindra who used to decide the logic for allotting roll numbers in examinations to favour particular candidates and no attempt to discover such manipulation in roll number allotment was made except in the case of PMT-2013. The STF did not identify mismatch roll numbers in all post-2008 examinations.

According to Gaur, the role of Vyapam Chairman, officials and employees was investigated. Fake caste certificates and domicile certificates were used in examinations, which have also been investigated.

BJP MLA showed them slipper, alleges BSP contingent

The tension between the ruling party and opposition MLAs was palpable on the third day of state Assembly session too. BSP MLAs Satyapal Sikarwar, Balbir Dandotia, Usha Chaudhary and Sheela Tyagi alleged that BJP MLA Narendra Kushwaha showed them a slipper. Kushwaha denied having shown slipper and said he wanted to ask a question during the Question Hour but the BSP MLAs created ruckus and disturbance, which made him upset. But the agitated BSP members would have none of it and alleging that the Speaker was not protecting them, showed bangles to the latter. The BSP MLAs have said that they have lodged a complaint against Kushwaha with the Speaker. They said they would lodge an FIR if the Speaker does not take action. They also alleged that BJP government was insulting SCs and STs. MLAs accused that persons associated with Vyapam scam were being bumped off. Earlier, the Question Hour was abandoned midway as BSP MLAs started created ruckus in the House.

STF not probing DMAT

Gaur said Vyapam’s former Director Yogesh Upreet got Richa Johri, daughter of Jabalpur based doctor Mukesh Johri, got selected in Pre-PG Examination in 2010 at the behest of agent Vijay Shrivastava through Nitin Mahindra.
