ASI dead, two critically injured as bikes collide near Raisen

BHOPAL : An Assistant Sub Inspector posted at the Kotwali police station Raisen died while two others were critically injured when two bikes collided head on at a blind turning in jungles near Neemkheda village within the limits of Sultanpur police station of Raisen on Wednesday evening. The injured were rushed to hospital in Raisen from where they were referred to Hamidia Hospital in the city. The deceased ASI was going to visit his ailing mother in Piparia who also died around the same time.

TI Sultanpur RK Dharia said that the deceased was identified as Manohar Lal Manjhi, 55, son of Jagan Lal, resident of Khaparkhera village Piparia. He was posted as an ASI at Kotwali police station Raisen. He lived in the police lines Raisen in a quarter with family.

His mother was critical following which his family had gone to Piparia to visit her.

On Wednesday evening ASI Manohar Lal took a day’s leave and was going to visit his mother on his Passion Pro bike (MP09NH1568). When he reached near Neemkheda village two bike-borne men coming from opposite direction Ramsingh, son of Puran Singh, resident of Arjani village and his friend on their Honda Shine bike (MP04WM8421) who were going to Raisen collided with his bike at high speed on a blind turn.

ASI Manohar Lal died on the spot while Ramsingh and his partner were critically injured. The injured were rushed to Hospital in Raisen from where they were rushed to Hamidia where both of them were unconscious till the filing of report. Police have registered a case and started investigations.
