Artist paints her battle with cancer on canvas

BHOPAL :  As many as 60 paintings of 32 artists of different states, showcased in an exhibition ‘Chittarupa’ at Rangdarshani Gallery of Bharat Bhawan, is being appreciated by the art-lovers.

The group exhibition has been organised by Art 20-20, Bhopal. Each artist has exhibited two works each in various forms and in mix media. Two expressive work of artist Aziz Khan, Bhopal are on display which is the central attraction of visitors. He has painted a portrait of two women in different moods brilliantly. Based on mix media work including oil and acrylic on canvas, the artist has tried to show the woman of today and tomorrow.

“It is a part of my series work ‘The real beauty’ and I’ve been working on this theme for the past many years. I take a day to complete one work,” said Khan.

Two black and white landscapes of Mohammed Ishaq from Lucknow are on display. He has painted a hovering cloud. He also painted how people are relaxing in the lap of nature to unwind. Artist Sajid Permi has exhibited his two digital works based on erotic theme in a symbolic form, which sends out the message that we should protect the beauty of women. The two acrylic work of artist Rupinder Kaur and Pradeep Ahirwar talk about preservation of nature.

Speaking about her work, Kaur said, “I have painted my struggle and pain with positivity. For the past two years, I am suffering from cancer. Right now I am okay but I never lost hope. And through my work I tried to show the woman strength by associating her with nature.”

Some works of other artists including Devilal Patidar, Dheerendra Kesali, Himanshu Joshi, Juhi Bajpai, Kamini Baghel, Leelamani Pillai, Manoj Gond, Mary Joshi, Meeta Johardatta, Mitu Verma, Monika Jha, Naina Gupta, Nijesh Mohan, Priti Agrawal, Preeti Das, Rekha Bhatnagar, Rekha Gurtu, Riddhima S Saraf, Sadhna Shukla, Sam Varghese, Shibli Khan, Usha Lokhande, Vimme Manoj and Yaman Aijaz are on display, attracting the art lovers.

Most of their works are based on nature, women, childhood et al. A demonstration of portrait-making by Harikant Dubey was also held in the gallery on Thursday. Dubey made the portrait of a woman on the spot in around two hours.

The exhibition which began from January 12 would conclude on January 16.
