BHOPAL: Based on the story of Premchand, a Hindi play ‘Apni Apni Mati!Apni Apni Gati!!’ was staged at Bharat Bhavan on Wednesday. Directed by Ganpat Swaroop Pathak, the one-hour-and-twenty-minute long play was presented by Swaroop, Rang Aur Chhaya Sanskritik Samiti, Bhopal.
The play comprised of two stories which talk about the mental state of a person. The play begins with a girl sleeping in a garden when two boys pass by. On seeing the girl, the first boy says she may be call girl but the second does not agree. Suddenly two women come and take her to her home. Then they came to know that the girl had fainted due to some health problem.
The second story talks about an old man who is editor of a magazine. Sets, costumes, light and music were used as per the mood of the play.
