BHOPAL: A Berasia resident woman died on Wednesday allegedly due to the callousness of medical staff of the government hospital.
Kailash Bai was suffering from severe anaemia. According to Jagdish, husband of the deceased, he could not admit her to hospital because he did not have any arrangement of blood required for her treatment and that hospital too did not provide the required blood. Jagdish brought Kailash Bai to Berasia health centre on October 7 where BMO Dr Kiran Wadiwa asked Jagdish to arrange for blood for her treatment. “I did not admit her to hospital because neither I had money nor I could arrange get blood.
After arranging for blood, I brought her back to the hospital on Wednesday but she died just after reaching the hospital,” said Jagdish.
BMO Dr Kiran Wadiwa on the other hand said, “The patient was diagnosed with severe anaemia and we referred her to Sultania Zanana Hospital for treatment. Her husband said that he is not prepared to take her to Sultania for treatment after which I asked him to admit her at Berasia for time being. But he did not admit her and she had already died when she was brought to the hospital on Wednesday. We have blood storage unit here and since she was severely anaemic we referred her to Sultania hospital.”
