Monitoring of 108 ambulance should be done by chief medical and health officer
BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission, taking into account cases of Janani Suraksha and 108 ambulances not reaching in time, has made several recommendations.
The Commission in its recommendations has said that if 108 ambulance does not reach timely, without any reason, and the patient dies, then its compensation should be recovered from the concerned employee.
The commission recommended that monitoring of 108 ambulance should be done by chief medical and health officer (CMHO) so that they could take appropriate step in sending of 108 ambulance and Janani Suraksha ambulance to the spot.
The Commission in its hearing of cases from districts including Mandla, Rewa, Jabalpur, Datia, Singrauli, Sehore, Vidisha, Satna, Betul, Sagar and Chhatarpur, found that these ambulances did not reach in time to the spot, leading to serious conditions.
The relatives of the patients were asked to give money and harassed.
The drivers did not take the patient to the destination and left them at some other places, which led their family members to face inconvenience.
