BHOPAL : The MP Congress Committee has demanded that de-notified land and the land transferred from revenue department to forests department be allotted to landless farmers, alleging that the government did not follow its order issued in the year 2004. In a press conference, MPCC president Arun Yadav said the then chief secretary had issued an order to amend land records of de-notified land. No district did it in MP.

Now, forest department is registering cases against forest dwellers describing the land in their possession as encroachment.

Around 27.13 lakh acres land was de-notified in 27518 villages across MP. Besides, forest department transferred 6.11 lakh acres land to revenue department. Yadav said his party wrote a letter in this regard to Governor and asked party local office-bearers to survey to find out landless farmers in districts. The opposition party would kick-start an agitation in this regard against the government.
