BHOPAL : State capital recorded the highest night temperature (minimum temperature) so far on Friday in December known for biting cold. It was the warmest night of December. Weatherman attributed this weather to Al Nino impact.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 27.6 degree Celsius which was two degrees Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 18.6 degree Celsius which was eight degree Celsius above normal.
Similar is story of other places. Jabalpur recorded a maximum temperature of 29.5 degree Celsius which was four degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 19.5 degree Celsius which was eight degree Celsius above normal.
Khajuraho recorded a maximum temperature of 32.6 degree Celsius which was six degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4 degree Celsius which was eight degree Celsius above normal.
Director Meteorological department Dr Anupam Kashyapi said, “It is a record for Bhopal that it recorded 18.6 degree Celsius. In fact, Met office does not have any record of highest range of minimum temperature in December as this month known for biting cold so we have record of lowest minimum temperature. But it really hot weather. I do not remember for the last 15 years that night temperature was so high in December. So it the highest recorded temperature.”
