BHOPAL : A 42-year-old woman, posted as Assistant Director, Agriculture in Obaidullaganj was robbed of her gold chain in broad daylight around 11.30 am on Wednesday morning by an unidentified bike-borne-youth near Habibganj Naka in front of Ganesh temple while she was waiting for bus to go to office.
The Habibganj police, on the complaint of the woman, have registered a case under section 392 of IPC against the accused and launched a manhunt to nab him.
According to Habibganj police, Surbhi Singh, 42, wife of Kamal Singh, resident of 4/10 MANIT Campus, in her complaint stated that she is posted as Assistant Director in Agriculture department at Obaidullaganj. On Wednesday morning around 11 am she reached Habibganj Naka by her Scooty. After parking the vehicle she was waiting for the bus to go to office in front of Ganesh temple.
Around 11.30 a bike-borne youth wearing a helmet came from MP Nagar side snatched her gold chain and fled towards 10 Number Market.
Kamal Singh, husband of the victim, is Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering at MANIT. Kamal Singh talking to Free Press said that her wife was so shocked that she couldn’t see the registration number of the bike properly.
The accused was driving a black bike. The robbed chain was said to be weighing around 15 grams. Police are investigating the CCTV footages to get clues about the accused.
