BHOPAL : Former Chief Minister Kailash Joshi flagged off Delhi-bound Shatabdi Express from the Habibganj railway station at 3.00 pm on Monday.
Home minister Babulal Gaur, DRM Rajiv Chaudhary, state BJP chief Nandkuamr Chauhan, MP Alok Sanjar, MLAs Vishwas Sarang and Surendra Nath, BJP district chief Alok Sharma, senior BJP leader Vijendra Singh Sisodia and Congress leader Govind Goel and others were also present on this occasion.
Shatabdi Expressed chugged into the station at 2.20pm, fulfilling a much-awaited demand of the people and departed at sharp 3.00pm, as per the scheduled time. Kailash Joshi said, “For the last 12 years we were demanding the extension of Shatabdi Express till Habibganj. First we met the then Railway minister Laloo Prasad Yadav and then the then Railway minister Mamta Banerjee but it was not fulfilled. But after Narendra Modi took over charge, we met Railway minister Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda and he immediately okayed it.
We have two more demands-inclusion of Bairagarh in the WCR and expansion of coach factory”.
Home minister Babulal Gaur said, “It is good that Shatabdi Express has been extended to Habibganj Railway station.
It is in the interest of the people”.
BJP state chief Nand Kumar Chauhan said, “Useless stoppages which are not economically viable for Railways are being scrapped all over the country. The same thing happened with Shatabdi Express”.
MP Alok Sanjar said, “The efforts of all of us have borne fruit today. Ultimately Shatabdi is here at Habibganj. It was long pending demand which has been fulfilled now”.
