Bhiknagaon : The faulty policies and actions of the local administration have proved fatal for the 32 residents of the Khilji colony here. 27 out of 32 houses of the colony have been declared illegal construction with a verdict of the tahsildar.
All the families have been imposed with Rs 1500 penalty on the extra increased construction in the houses facing road. The families are awestruck since they hold permission from the city municipality itself.
The matter
Rashtrawadi Congress block president in 2005 complained to Tahsildar against contemporary block president of Congress Salim Khilji and his brothers. He claimed that the land used for the colony, belongs to the government.
The complained led to the measurement of the land by revenue department in 2005. The report declared it to be government property. The land was measured again in 2010 and total 27 houses were found with encroachment. All the households have been ordered to diminish the encroachment and pay penalty of Rs.1500.
Panchayat inspector D R Yadav says that around 70 percent of the residents here are class three employees who have taken loan from banks. The loan procedure includes proper legal process and it is indigestible that the land has been declared illegal.
The land was declared as government property in 2004 and 12 houses were found illegal at that time. Now the houses are four time that of in 2004. As the land was government property, how the other houses were permitted to be constructed?
‘It is a judicial procedure, if the residents would make appeal hearing will be done.’
-KK Malviya SDM, Bhikangaon
32 residents of Khilaji Colony have been issued notices of encroachments and if within seven days they would not pay the fine, the illegal constructions will be removed.’ -Ranjna Patidar Tehsildar, Bhikangaon
“We have got a proper registry done. Revenue department has done diversion of the land, city municipality has registered the property, water connection, electricity connection all we have taken.’
-Hukumchand Gupta, the Colony resident.
