BHOPAL: As many as 7,960 houses will be constructed for weaker and lower- income groups in the state. As many as 4,591 EWS and 3,359 LIG houses will be constructed by Bhopal Development Authority and MP Housing and infrastructure Development Board.
A cabinet sub- committee gave sanction for making land available on concessional rates for construction of these houses at a meeting here on Tuesday which was chaired by UAD Minister Babulal Gaur. Finance Minister Raghavji and Environment Minister Jayant Malaiya were also present.
At the meeting, sanction was given to two housing projects. Under the projects, 1,824 EWS and 2,580 LIG houses will be constructed for weaker and low- income group beneficiaries.
Under 8 housing projects sanctioned at the meeting of the Housing Board, 2,777 EWS and 779 LIG houses will be constructed at Jabalpur, Katni, Chhindwara, Barwani, Mandla, Morena and Gwalior. Of these, 600 houses will be constructed by the Board at village Amkhera and 492 houses at Kudwari near Jabalpur city. As many as 120 EWS and 80 LIG houses will be constructed at Padarwara near Katni, 144 EWS and 152 LIG houses at Khapabhat near Chhindwara city, 118 EWS and 42 LIG houses at village Bargaon near Barwani, 102 EWS and 35 LIG houses at Devdhara near Mandla city, 638 EWS and 146 LIG houses at village Bhonderi near Morena and 564 EWS and 324 LIG houses will be constructed at Murar area of Gwalior city for weaker groups by MP Housing Board.
