BHOPAL : Bhopal police claimed to have arrested eight accused, in two different cases, who were involved in illegal fire arm smuggling, here on Wednesday. A pistol, revolver, 12 bore rifle, cartridges and swords have been confiscated from them. DGI Dharmendra Choudhary told media persons that acting on a tip off Nishatpura police intercepted two bike born youths, who were coming from Gandhinagar, and found that one Devendra Mahawar was carrying two country made pistol and one cartridge, while the other Vinay Mahawar was found carrying one pistol and one cartridge.
Police claimed they have confessed about their involvement trade of illegal arms and revealed the names of their customers. In another case police have arrested seven accused and seized seven pistol, four cartridges and eight swords. Police claimed that Devendra and Vinay, who live in Bhopal, are arms traders from village Bamnala of Khandwa district. Police claimed that buy weapons at a very low price and sell them at the rate of Rs 10-12K. They have been booked under section 25 and 27 of Arms Act. Similarly the Hanumanganj police have allegedly arrested Sayeed Lakhera from Kazi camp on Tuesday after a tipoff that he is trying to sell illegal weapon. Police found a pistol, a revolver, two 12 bore rifle and 6 cartridges from his possession. He is a history sheeter having 27 cases registered against him. The 28 th case was registered on Wednesday.
