7 vehicle-lifters held; six cars, nine two-wheelers recovered

Bhopal: Police busted vehicle lifter gangs and arrested seven persons and recovered six stolen cars and nine two-wheelers in last 24 hours here. Nishaptura police nabbed four vehicle lifters and recovered five cars and five motorbikes worth Rs 6 lakh.

While Kotwali police arrested a vehicle-lifter from Janakpuri and recovered four two-wheelers worth Rs 1.8 lakh. Gautam Nagar police nabbed two vehicle lifters and recovered a car worth Rs 700000  from their  possession on Sunday from JP Nagar trisection.

The Nisshatpura police tried to stop a car near Best Price but the three occupants escaped and were chased and nabbed by police. When police sought vehicle documents, they failed to produce it. When quizzed, they confessed to have stolen the car.

They also told police that they have stolen vehicles from different parts of the state capital along with their fourth accomplice Shivam Kushwaha. The three accused were identified as Ajju alias Ajay Vishwakarma(20), Sunil Namdev(19) of Misrod and Rajendra Shilpi(28) of Raisen.  Ajju and Sunil have been booked by Mandideep police for vehicle lifting. Ajju has been booked by Raisen police for burglary.

According to Kotwali the police, acting on a tip off a youth was detained and when he was asked details regarding the vehicle he failed and confessed that the two-wheeler was a stolen one. The nabbed accused was identified as Jodharam Gurjar (23).

Gautam Nagar police, acting on a tip off two  youths were nabbed from JP Nagar trisection who were with the stolen car and when they were quizzed regarding the car they could not provide the details and document of the car and confessed that the car was a stolen. The nabbed miscreants were Prithvi Singh alias Shammi of Ratlam and Goud alias Bittu and confessed stealing of car from Industrial area Ratlam. A case was registered by Industrial Area police Ratlam regarding the theft.
