Gandhwani : Senior agriculture officer Jamra has seized 66 packets of fake seeds, however the accused managed to flee. He filed a complaint at the police station regarding this stating that the accused was selling fake seeds to the villagers. Police have registered the case and started further investigations.
Jamra informed that from the past few days, he was getting the information that spurious seeds were being sold in the market. While inspecting the market on Tuesday, on the basis of suspicion, he stopped a person who was selling seeds, when he try to nab him, the suspect managed to escape. However, Jamra seized his bike and found fake seeds, as the packet didn’t contain any information regarding the company or seeds. He instantly informed the police and lodged the complaint.
Indian Farmers’ Association demanded strict action against those who are looting farmers. They also warned that if the agriculture department didn’t take any action soon then they would be forced to agitate.
Similar case reported in Petlawad
Petlawad: Similar case was reported in the town, wherein the officials of revenue and agriculture department took action against the shop owners who were selling spurious seeds. Police have registered the case under seed act and section 420 of IPC against Rajneesh Heeralal and Jeevan Hemraj.
