Sanawad: A six-month-old girl was kidnapped by an unidentified lady from the Peepal Chowk of the city here on Monday at around 5:30 pm sending people as well as police into tizzy.
Sub-inspector Ram Mandloi informed that Janki Bai, resident of nearby village Choti Ali, along with her baby girl Benu and three-year-old boy Lokesh went to the local market and left her kids sitted beside a medical store to do some shopping.
However, when she returned after around 15 minutes she found her boy Lokesh sitting alone while the baby girl was missing from the spot. People soon gathered after seeing Janki wailing inconsolably and immediately informed the police.
Dial 100 police soon reached the spot and after taking Janki and his son to the police station checked the CCTV footage which confirmed an unidentified woman lifting Benu from the spot.Police have registered a case of kidnapping in the case and also launched a hunt to nab the kidnapper.
