BHOPAL: The state government has formed 46,000 health committees to ensure effective health services in rural areas. According to a press communiqué the government will set up 51,000 health committees and each of them will have Rs 10,000 so that they can provide immediate financial aid for emergency cases. Each committee will comprise 20 members. A woman member will head the committee and Panchayat secretary, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will be the joint secretaries and treasurers, respectively. Other members of the committee will include woman panch, ASHA, Anganwadi workers, chairperson of Matra Sahyogi Samiti, representatives of mid- day meal group and hand- pump mechanics of the villages concerned. The members of the committees would be imparted training, the communiqué added.
