Incident comes a day after MP again emerged as country’s rape capital

BHOPAL : A three-year-old girl was raped and dumped into bushes by unknown person(s) on Wednesday – a day after the NCRB released its latest report, declaring MP the rape capital of the country.

Four police officials of two police stations were placed under suspension for directing the victim’s kin from one police station to another for lodging of FIR. SI Sardar Singh and Head constable Samar Singh of Jehangirabad police station and ASI Ramesh Singh and Amit Singh (constable) of Aishbag police station have been suspended. The victim was rushed to hospital in an auto rickshaw after a local saw her. Later, forensic experts reached the spot. Minister Archana Chitnis also visited the hospital to see the condition of the child. Police officials said that separate teams have been formed and have been given the task to nab the culprit.

A local resident named Manoj Bagri first saw the girl. She was trying to stand up. She was seriously injured and was bleeding. Subsequently, he informed his wife Jyotsna Bagri and others after which the police were called.

Bhopal railway station. The family had come from Uttar Pradesh a fortnight ago. They work as labourers.  Senior      police officials rushed to the spot after the crime was reported. A case has been registered. Officials said that a hunt is on to nab the culprit. Some clothes have reportedly been found apart from other evidence.

ASP Rajesh Chandel said, “Sexual assault has been confirmed. The victim was with parents at platform no-6 but how she went to Pul-Patra, we are probing it. She has been admitted to the Sultania Hospital. No one has been arrested in this case so far.”

children: MP second worst state in country

Madhya Pradesh has the dubious distinction of being on the second spot in terms of crimes against children. In the year 2015, of the 84,189 child victims of crimes in the nation, 12,859 were from MP, according to the National Crime Record Bureau report released recently.  The state has contributed 13.7 per cent of crimes against children in the country. . Maharashtra with 13921 cases of crime against children tops in nation.  As many as 135 children were murdered and 1,570 were raped, 1,334 girls were assaulted, 471 girls faced and 13 girls faced assault of criminals who tried to disrobe them. Three girls faced voyeurism, 55 girls were stalked and 792 girls faced other incidents of modesty outrages in the state. In cases of abduction of the children MP is also on the second spot with 5,306 children being abducted. Seventeen cases of foeticide were reported and eight cases of abetment to suicide of children were reported from the state, which are second highest in the nation. As many as 146 cases of exposure and abandonment were reported, while 219 of such cases were reported in Maharashtra. In the state five minor girls were sold into prostitution and the government foiled nine child marriages. As many as 1,687 children faced sexual offences and 669 children faced other types of crimes.
