BHOPAL : Three persons were arrested at Majhgawan in Satna district on Sunday under anti-conversion law. They have been sent in judicial custody. They all work for an NGO called Gospel Echoing Missionary Society (GEMS)
All the three employees were arrested under section ¾ of Madhya Pradesh Dharma Swatantraya Adhinivam. 1968 and sections 506 and 295-A of IPC.
SHO Majhgawan Chain Singh said, “The names of the arrested persons are Harilal, 20, of Majhgawan, Rewa, Anil Kumar, 28, Ajamgarh (UP) and Stephan Raj Kumar, 40 of Chennai. They have been sent to judicial custody.”
ASP Rameshwar Yadav, talking to Free Press, said, “All the three accused are paid employees of GEMS – a Christian registered NGO, working in the northern States of India especially Bihar for the last 42 years. Police recovered CDs, projectors and other material used to propagate Jesus Christ’s message in the society.”
