29-yr-old dies after falling off moving train

BHOPAL : A 29-year-old man died after allegedly falling off a running train near Barkhedi railway crossing on Friday in Aishbag locality here. Identified Ajay Shinde, he had boarded the train for Maharashtra from Bhopal railway station to attend a family function, the police said.

According to the police, Shinde of Loha Bazar area, used to work at a jeweller’s shop in Raisen district. He is survived by his wife and a one-year-old son. In the initial investigations, deceased’s brother told the police that he was to board a train on Thursday late night but missed it and stayed back at the station instead of returning home. On Friday he boarded another train to reach Maharashtra.

On Friday at around 12 pm, a stranger called his brother from Ajay’s mobile phone and said his body is lying near railway tracks in Barkhedi area of Aishbag. The police after getting the information, reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. The case was registered under Section 174 of CrPC and investigations were on, the police added.
