250 litres of illicit country liquor seized

BHOPAL : The Gunga police on Friday afternoon seized 1000 quarters of country liquor from a Bolero jeep on Hinoti Sadak Berasia. The police arrested two accused for illegally trafficking the liquor and registered a case against them under section 34/2 of Excise Act. According to police, a Bolero jeep bearing registration number MP04 GA 8475 was stopped for vehicle inspection. During checking the driver looked suspicious. On searching the vehicle it was found to be carrying 20 box of country liquor having 1000 quarters of 180 ml each. The police arrested driver and conductor of the vehicle who were identified as Umashankar, 45, son of Ganesh Ram Shivhare, resident of Mela Ground Berasia and Badam Singh, 32, son of Gangaram Thakur, resident of Damkhera Village Berasia.
