BHOPAL: A two-day national conference, sponsored by the University Grant Commission (UGC), on the topic ‘Redefining the service sector – Challenges and opportunities, was inaugurated on Thursday at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences. The conference is being organised by the department of management, BSSS.
Chief guest on the occasion was R Parasuram, Retd IAS, guest of honour was G S Chauhan, Dy. secretary, CRO, UGC, while the keynote speaker was Anurag Shrivastava (IFS), Addl principal chief conservator of forest (IT). Principal of the college Fr Dr John PJ in his welcome address extended his best wishes and welcomed everyone, he also highlighted on the important issues pertaining to the service sector and the role played by it in the economic growth and development. Vice principal Sr Dr Lissy Jose also welcomed the dignitaries.
Convenor of the conference Sunita Anand (HOD, Dept of management) gave introduction and aims and objectives of the conference. Guests and experts shared useful insights, facts and figures on the various aspects of service sector and the major areas of concern so as to redefine service sector to meet future challenges.
