BHOPAL : Cold wave intensified in the state on Monday covering more divisions including Hoshangabad, Shahdol, Jabalpur and Sagar. Pachmarhi continued to freeze at one degree Celsius. Three degree Celsius was recorded at most of the places in the state.
Therefore, there is no respite from biting cold in the state capital as day as well as night temperature soared nominally. School going kids were most affected lot as they have to catch buses in morning. People huddled at bonfire to get relief from biting cold.
According to meteorological department, severe cold wave prevailed over East Madhya Pradesh and South-Western parts of the state.
Dense fog is likely to prevail at many places like Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Shivpuri, Datia, Tikamgarh, Satna, Rewa, Panna, Chhattarpur district. Frost may occur over Damoh, Jabalpur, Umaria, Raisen, Shajapur and Guna districts.
Air, train traffic disrupted Air as well rail tariff was disrupted due to thick fog on Monday. Flights were either cancelled or delayed while super fast trains were running late for hours.
Flights including Delhi-bound JetAirways 9W 2653 and Delhi bound JetKonnect S23653 were cancelled due to thick fog.
Those flights delayed include Mumbai bound flights AI 634, Delhi bound AI 633, Delhi bound JetAirways 9W 2651, Delhi bound JetKonnect S2 3651.
Hazrat-Nizamuddin Scunderabad Rajdhani (12438) was running 5:39 hours late. Nanded-Srinagar Express (12485) was running 14:45 hour late. Besides, Sachkhand Express (12715) was running 10:48 hours late. Shridham Express (12191) was running 17:43 hours late. Goa Express (12780) was 10:05 hours late. Hazarat Nizamuddin -Bhusawal Express (12406) was running 12:31 hours late.
