BHOPAL : The district administration – on Thursday night – seized 15 sand-laden trucks near Aashima Mall under Misrod police station on Friday. The drivers of ten of them could not show the slips of royalty payment during the checking. National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a ban on mining of sand, which will continue till October 31.
Truck operators were transporting sand from Hoshangabad and they claimed that they had bought it in auction. As per the Misrod police, all the trucks were seized from various points during night checking. Some of them were seized at Sukhi Sewania and others at Aashima Mall and Gyarah Meel.
SHO Misrod Kunwar Singh Mukati said, “I intercepted only the trucks that were transporting sand. Trucks operators claimed sand was legally bought by them. I have handed over the case to mining officials. They will now verify the things”
ADM BS Jamod said, “The administration has seized sand-laden trucks. Now mining officials will verify whether the sand was being transported illegally or legally.”
