Bhopal: Giving a word of advice to his cabinet colleagues, the Chief Minister Kamal Nath told them to remain grounded and prepare for the Lok Sabha elections. “Don’t leave your ground, remain in touch with the people of your constituency and prepare for the Lok Sabha elections, chief minister Kamal Nath told the new ministers at PCC office here on Tuesday. An informal meeting was held at Congress office where Nath and former CM Digvijaya Singh addressed the newly appointed ministers after their swearing-in. The two leaders also asked the ministers about their choice of portfolio.
As the new ministers spelled out their preferences, Nath and Singh were quick to ask them ‘why’ and also what all they knew about the department. The two veteran leaders also tipped the new ministers how to conduct themselves in their public life after occupying the coveted seat.
‘Don’t let the ministerial post rule your mind, be grounded and serve the state,” the two leaders told them clearly without mincing words Nath told them, “very shortly the portfolios will be distributed may be today late evening (Tuesday) or on Wednesday. You people should start your work immediately and fulfil the promises made in the Congress Vachan Patra”. Stressing on the party manifesto.
Nath directed the ministers to read out the manifesto again and again. “People have accepted our manifesto and they voted for us, now we have to fulfil our promises as early as possible and importantly we have to search new areas in which the development is needed,” said Nath. The CM is going to take the first meeting of the newly formed cabinet at Matralaya on Wednesday
