BJP STATE ELECTION COMMITTEE MEETING
Bhopal: The state election committee, at its meeting on Monday, held discussions on 130 seats. In case of 15 Ministers, only single names have been recommended while in case of 3- 4 Ministers, more than one name have been included. A consensus was reached on changing the constituency of Medical Education Minister. Instead of Gwalior ( East), he will be contesting from Bhitarwar.
It was also decided at the meeting that the names of MLAs who are proposed to be denied ticket, will also be included in the panel for their respective constituencies.
Sources said that at the meeting only the pros and cons of candidates were discussed and the list will be given a final shape on Tuesday. The meeting held at BJP state office will continue on Tuesday after which the meeting of Central Election Committee would be held at Delhi, where final decision on candidates would be taken.
After the meeting BJP state incharge Anantha Kumar said that “ Whatever is necessary for victory will be done” Anantha during his Bhopal visit in the recent past, held a discussion with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, BJP State President Narendra Singh Tomar and state organisational general secretary Arvind Menon on contenders on all seats. Anantha had taken the panels of candidates as well as the list of single candidates on around 200 seats to Delhi.
Former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa and Kailash Joshi have been consulted on the names of candidates and they mostly kept silent in the meeting. Former state president Prabhat Jha and Vikram Verma expressed their objections on certain names over which Tomar said thatNames of 15 Ministers cleared; Anoop’s seat changed
