10-day training camp for girls starts

BHOPAL: A 10-day long special training camp to train the girls in self defence techniques started in the Marshal Art Hall of the TT Nagar Stadium on Monday. The camp is being organised with an intention to uplift the self confidence of the girls by making them strong. The member girls of the summer camp participated in the camp with enthusiasm. The training camp would conclude on June 6.

On the directives of the director sports and youth welfare department VK Singh the summer training camp has been associated with various other activities such as classical and western dance classes. The aim is to train the children in other activities along with sports.

Singh said the sports department had organised the self defence training camp in all the districts some months back under the Veerangana scheme of the department. Around 20,000 women and girls were trained during the camp. In the same series this special workshop is being organised. The willing girls can register in the camp and get the training free of cost.
