As part of its expansion plan, Royal Enfield has opened a dealership in South Korea. For this, it has partnered with Kiheung Motors, who will act as their sole distributor in South Korea. The first flagship store has been opened in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where Royal Enfield will offer sales, after sales service and spares for its bikes. The bikes will be exported to South Korea from India.
The bike manufacturer will initially offer three bikes – Bullet 500, Classic 500 and Himalayan – in South Korea. Royal Enfield has not mentioned if they will introduce its 650cc Interceptor and Continental GT 650 in India. While the Bullet and Classic are powered by a 499cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor that puts out 27.57PS and 41.3Nm of torque, the Himalayan is an adventure tourer gets a 411cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder motor that makes 24.83PS and 32Nm of torque.
The Bullet 500 costs 55,00,00 Won (Rs 3,35,871) in South Korea. Meanwhile the Classic 500 retails for 59,50,000 Won (Rs 3,63,351) while the Himalayan is priced at 49,50,000 Won (Rs 3,02,284). Royal Enfield had recently set up CKD operations in Thailand but the bikes made there will only be sold in Thai markets.
South Korea is an emerging market for two-wheelers with KTM and BMW Motorrad already having a presence there. The KTM 390 Duke sells for 69,90,000 won (Rs 4,26,672) while the BMW G 310 R there costs 64,70,000 won (Rs 3,94,931).

Opens its first stand-alone flagship store in Seoul
Seoul, April 19, 2019: Royal Enfield, the global leader in mid-sized motorcycles, announced its entry into South Korea, with Vintage Motors (Kiheung International) as its official distributor-partner in the country. The iconic British motorcycle manufacturer arrives in Korea with its first flagship store in Seoul at Hannam-daero 42-gil, commencing its full operation, including after sales, spares and service.
This strategic announcement is in line with Royal Enfield’s focused international thrust of leading and expanding the global mid-sized motorcycle segment (250-750cc). The brand launch press conference was addressed by Mr. Vimal Sumbly, APAC Business Head and Pablo Lee Junior- Chief Executive Officer, Kehung Motors.
