Pune-based Kinetic Group has partnered with Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta to sell its exotic bikes in the Indian market from its ‘Motoroyale’ dealerships. The company is also taking care of the aftersales service for the bikes in the country. Not only this, Kinetic is also assembling the MV Agusta F3 800 for the Indian market at its Ahmednagar plant, while the F4 and the Brutale 1090 are coming as CBU. A separate company called MV Agusta India Private Ltd has also been incorporated for the purpose, which is a part of the Kinetic Group.

The company aims to sell around 250 MV Agusta motorcycles this fiscal and have already sold around 24 units across India, including eight from the new Ahmedabad showroom on the very first day. This is a very good figure considering the price range of Rs 17-50 lakh. At the inauguration ceremony of the new dealership, Ajinkya Firodia, managing director, MV Agusta India, told the press that the Motoroyale chain of high-end motorcycle stores is not limited to MV Agusta bikes only. It would be sourcing superbikes from other leading two-wheeler brands in the world as well.

The Kinetic Group is already in talks with some global superbike manufacturers to sell their world-class motorcycles in India and at least one more brand is expected to be added by the next year. The company will most probably target the price range between Rs 3 lakh and 10 lakh with 300-600cc bikes, which are most popular in the performance segment in the country.

The superbike segment is one of the fastest growing categories in India because of a burgeoning group of biking enthusiasts. So, it is the best time for a new company to enter the market like MV did. The Ahmednagar facility of Kinetic Group has the capacity to assemble 2,000 bikes per month, which means there is scope to bring more bikes as CKD without increasing the capacity of the plant. So, it will not be a difficult task for the Indian group to fetch more world-class brands under the shed of their Motoroyale dealerships.
