Salman Khan needs to stop comparing Priyanka with Katrina, and get over her rejection!

Bollywood actor Salman Khan has a good rap sheet when it comes to handling rejections on personal and professional front. And no we’re nowhere trying to hint over his exes. But let’s be real, he has always held a grudge against people who have locked horns with him. Be it Vivek’s press conference mocking him or Ranbir Kapoor eloping with Katrina, Salman lives in a bubble where his way is the high way, courtesy Race 3 disaster.

By now we know the magnitude at which Priyanka Chopra’s exit from ‘Bharat’ took over the media. For those uninitiated, PC quit Bharat to marry Nick Jonas in December 2018, further being replaced by Katrina Kaif. While many a times, the film’s director Ali Abbas Zafar and the lead Salman Khan, have addressed this in the media, the latter has been giving out statements that suggest he needs to apply some Aloe Vera for damage repair.

Chopra is a very good friend of Salman’s sister Arpita. The actress even had her as one of the bridesmaids at her wedding. Khan had also mentioned how Priyanka called up several times to get in the film. However, a source close to Pinkvilla cited the reason for her exit to be more than just marriage. Apparently Priyanka didn’t like Salman’s constant late arrivals and also the addition of two more actresses. But again, this isn’t PC’s statement.

Meanwhile director Ali has been cool headed with the entire scenario throughout. Salman on the other hand cannot hold back his emotions and has time and again gone too far in making statements about Priyanka’s exit. In an earlier report he stated that Priyanka’s wedding may not be the only reason for the change of mind.  He said, “Priyanka’s work was for 75-80 days. Shaadi ke liye chaar din ka preparation, aur chaar din ki shaadi, aath din ke andar ho gayi aur phir uske baad honeymoon. So, we said we will work it out. But she was very clear that she didn’t want to be a part of the film.”

“Not doing this had to be because of the wedding or because she doesn’t want to work with me anymore. It could also be because she doesn’t want to work in humari industry (Bollywood) or wants to work only in Hollywood. Whatever she wants to do, I wish her all the best in life. We are glad that she is engaged and happy”, added Salman.

It should have ended by now, but the Tiger Zinda Hai actor took it up a notch and made another statement during Bharat Promotions. Mumbai Mirror quoted the actor saying, “Thank you, Priyanka! I will always be thankful to her. Bharat was about to go on the floors and just five days before the shooting, Priyanka meets me and says that she wouldn’t be able to work in the film.”

He even went on to make a comment on her wedding saying, “She chose to play the role of a wife, which is even beautiful, but Katrina is not playing the role of a wife and hence she is playing the character in Bharat.”

Keeping our magnifying glass over Katrina’s career and performances, if you don’t have something nice to say, stay mum. The actress who was taken on board told DNA that she agreed to do the film after reading the script in three hours forty five minutes. In comparison to Priyanka, Katrina was a biased choice. Talking about a meaty role in Bharat, Katrina is not the primary choice for a content driven director. She has been overshadowed by superstar elements be it Zero, Thugs of Hindostan or Dhoom 3. So comparing Priyanka with Katrina, not cool.

Salman didn’t stop there and further added, “Even after the release of the trailer, Priyanka didn’t call me. Now, if she had some genuine problem then it’s alright. I believe, whatever happens, happens for the good.”

What is this even supposed to mean? From where we stand, this exit in particular is about making choices as an individual (marriage in this case since Priyanka has not cited any reason from her end). But according to Salman, if you shake hands with him, he decides when to let go of the hand. It’s not like Khan has never walked out of films. Even if we discount the reasons of Priyanka Chopra to leave Bharat, Salman really needs to stop obsessing over people rejecting his films or simply him as a human being- because that is called being human.
