According to a 2019 study, Pluto's atmosphere could completely collapse and freeze in next 5 years that is by 2030 due to the following reasons:

Atmosphere is thinning: Pluto's atmosphere is already thin and made up of nitrogen, methane, and carbon monoxide.
Moving away from the sun: Pluto is moving away from the sun and getting colder.
Nitrogen freezes out: When Pluto is farthest from the sun, nitrogen freezes out of the atmosphere.
Atmosphere will frost out: The atmosphere will frost out and vanish around the whole planet.
Will appear brighter: If Pluto does freeze over, it will appear much brighter to Earth.
