Booking a stay at an unknown travel destination can be tricky unless you actually check in through trusted websites or persons. The accommodation images didn't turn out to be true for this man when he arrived at the hotel. The exact location where the incident took place has not been reported.

More details

The video showed him walking towards the wall and questioning the staff member of the hotel about the wallpaper. He showed them the room images he saw while booking on his phone and told them he was expecting a sea outside his window. He was disappointed and angry when he entered the room to only find a lifelike wallpaper stuck there.

Responding the tourist, the uniformed hotel staff addressed the issue and said the room was similar to the pictures on the booking portal. While they initially tried to keep a professional and steady expression to tell him he wasn't tricked, soon the staff broke into laughter while informing him the images match the details of the room.

Netizens react

The revelation left social media users both amused and outraged. The viral post has sparked widespread discussion, with many netizens sharing their own experiences of deceptive advertising in the travel industry.

In response, one Instagrammer @drvandana_sinha sarcastically suggested that tourists should pay with pictures of currency notes, taking a dig at the irony of the situation. Similarly, another user @wild_hares_world pointed out that such scams are common, mentioning a similar experience in Egypt where hotels promise pyramid views that turn out to be just images on the wall.
