Pune Couple Distributes 5,000 kg Chicken Ahead Of PMC Elections

The month of Shravan has begun in many parts of the country, but in Maharashtra, Shravan month is starting from July 24. Here, 'Gatari' is celebrated before Shravan. On this day, non-vegetarian food is cooked in most households.

To take electoral advantage of this occasion, a couple from Pune distributed 5,000 kilograms of chicken for free through their 'Dhananjay Jadhav Foundation'. According to the organizers, the purpose of this program is to empower society, but the public is viewing it in connection with the Pune Municipal Corporation elections that are to be held in just a few days.

Areas like Dhanori, Bhairavnagar, Sadbannagar, Jakat Naka, and Munjabawasti in Pune fall under Ward No. 1. The couple Dhananjay Jadhav and Pooja Jadhav, who aspire to become corporators from this very ward, planned to distribute 5,000 kilograms of chicken on Sunday. How could voters who benefit from schemes like free ration and free electricity miss this golden opportunity of free chicken? Thousands of people queued up from morning itself to get chicken.

Registration and showing an identity card (ID) were mandatory before taking chicken. Initially, this process went smoothly, but within no time the crowd grew to such an extent that there was neither registration nor ID verification - everyone rushed for the free chicken. It became difficult to control the crowd and the program had to be stopped midway.

Although all those who wanted to eat chicken may not have gotten it, the news of this program has certainly reached the people. Whether the free distributed chicken will convert into votes, or its taste will fade from people's minds by the time elections arrive - the answer to this question will only be known after the elections.
