Mahesh Patil, a former corporator of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) with years of service in Vasai-Virar, along with hundreds of activists, formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. The induction was warmly welcomed by BJP State President Ravindra Chavan.

The event saw the presence of prominent leaders, including MLA Rajan Naik, MLA Sneha Pandit Dubey, MLC Prasad Lad, State General Secretary Madhavi Naik, Vasai-Virar District President Pradnya Patil, Media In-charge Navnath Ban, and State Spokesperson Avdhut Wagh.
Faith in Modi and Mahayuti Governments
Speaking at the occasion, Ravindra Chavan said that those joining BJP have placed their faith in the Modi Government at the Centre and the Mahayuti Government in Maharashtra, both dedicated to building a developed India and Maharashtra. He assured that this trust would be honoured with sincere efforts.
Focus on Vasai-Virar’s Development
Chavan reaffirmed BJP’s focus on the progress of the Vasai-Virar region, highlighting that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is prioritising the resolution of civic issues in Vasai-Virar and Nalasopara. He promised transparent governance and pledged to steer the region’s development in a new direction.
Grassroots Leaders to Strengthen Local Efforts
He further added that the inclusion of grassroots leaders like Mahesh Patil, who deeply understands people’s concerns, would strengthen BJP’s efforts in addressing challenges faced by the residents of Vasai-Virar.

Among those who joined BJP from BVA were Slum Cell President Rajesh Thakur, Women’s Slum Cell President Savita Thakur, Ravi Patil, Rajesh Patil, Dilip Bhoir, Harsh Mhatre, Dhaval Choraghe of Yuva Pratishthan, and several others.
