Mumbai: 14-Year-Old Boy Dies By Suicide After Mother Asked Him To Study

A 14-year-old boy in Bhandup committed suicide by hanging himself after his mother asked him to study, senior police officials confirmed on Sunday.
The incident occurred in Runwal Greens building, and an accidental death report has been registered at the Bhandup Police Station.
According to the police, on December 14, around 10.15pm, the boy, a 9th Class student, used a nylon rope to hang himself from the ceiling fan in his bedroom.
His mother discovered the scene upon opening the bedroom door. The boy was immediately taken to Fortis Hospital, where hospital authorities informed the police about the incident.
Police officers arrived at the hospital to investigate and gather details about the case. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the boy may have taken this drastic step after being repeatedly asked by his mother to focus on his studies.
The police said that the boy’s father is a businessman, while his mother is a homemaker.
