Eid Al-Fitr 2025: Saudi Arabia Announces Eid Celebrations On Sunday, March 30 As Shawwal Crescent Moon Sighted

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), March 29: Saudi Arabia has officially announced the date for Eid Al-Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan. Eid will be celebrated across the kingdom on Sunday (March 30). The announcement was made after the meeting of the Shawwal Moon Sighting Committee's meeting today.

The country’s moon sighting committees observed the sky to check for the Shawwal crescent moon. Based on their findings, Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday (March 30). The development confirms that the people in the country will not observe the 30th fast tomorrow, instead will prepare for the Eid prayers on Sunday morning.

Thousands of Muslim devotees from across the world have gathered in Saudi Arabia for Umrah. These devotees will also celebrate Eid along with the people of the country, irrespective of their origin countries.

The announcement was made on official social media account stating, "The crescent moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia. #EidAlFitr will be celebrated on Sunday, 30th March 2025. May Allāh accept our siyām, qiyām & a'māl & may He allow us to witness many more Ramadāns in good health. Āmīn."

Eid Al-Fitr is a special occasion for Muslims worldwide. It begins after a month of fasting, prayers and devotion. People celebrate by offering Eid prayers, gathering with family and friends and sharing festive meals.

Authorities have urged the public to follow official announcements for Eid prayer timings and celebrations across the country.
