After Daughter’s Death In Plane Crash, Indore Parents Launch Trust For Girls' Education |
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Indore-based software engineer Harpreet Kaur Hora tragically died in a plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12.
In her memory, her parents, Mahendra Pal Singh Hora and Baljeet Kaur Hora, have established the Ram Harpreet Memorial Trust to support the education and empowerment of girls.
The trust was formally launched on Saturday, July 19, coinciding with the Guruparva of Shri Guru Harkrishna Ji. Harpreet’s parents have initially contributed ₹2 lakh to start the trust.
They also stated that if they receive any compensation or insurance amount related to the accident, the entire sum will be donated to the trust in Harpreet’s name.
“We want to make her vision a reality”
Her father Mahendra Pal Singh Hora said that this trust will help deprived girls in the direction of education, moral values and empowerment. He has appealed to the Gurudwara Committee for guidance and cooperation from the community.
He said, “This is a personal and emotional decision, which has been taken to keep the memory of daughter Harpreet and her ideals alive.”

Harpreet, 30, a resident of Rajmohalla area of Indore, was a software engineer by profession. She was going to London to surprise her husband Robbie Hora on his birthday. Earlier she had booked a flight ticket for June 19, but later changed it to June 12.
She boarded flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad. At that time she was at her in-laws' house and had also come to her maternal home before the flight. After the accident, she was identified through DNA samples taken from her sister Simran. Her last rites were performed in Ahmedabad.
Harpreet was in an IT company in Bengaluru. After getting permission for remote work from the company, she had recently shifted to London, where her husband works as a cloud architect.
