Kolkata: A TMC delegation on Thursday met Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar to complain against BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh over his comments against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s parents.
After submitting the deputation to the Governor, TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said that the eight-member delegation visited the Governor requesting him to take ‘strict’ action against Dilip Ghosh.
“The Governor said that he will read the deputation and will take action accordingly,” said Kakoli.
TMC state general secretary and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that the action should be taken against the comments made on the ‘only’ woman Chief Minister in the country.
“How can Dilip Ghosh comment on a woman Chief Minister? We have always seen the Governor taking to Twitter to comment on everything. We want to see now what he does, whether he takes action or works according to what BJP instructs,” said Kunal Ghosh.
Governor Dhankhar said that he has given ‘assurance’ to the TMC delegation and will look into the matter.
“We have seen unprecedented violence. People are in fear. Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore said where the mind is without fear and head is held high. But now in Bengal everyone’s head is full of fear,” said Dhankhar.
Slamming Dhankhar, Kunal said that we all know that the Governor works at the ‘behest’ of a particular party.
However, Dilip Ghosh said that he had said the ‘truth’ and the Trinamool Congress can ‘arrest’ him if they want.
Earlier on Wednesday, attending a media conclave, BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh in Hindi questioned about the parents of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
“She says she is Bengal’s daughter. That’s fine, Bengal’s daughter. Then she goes to Goa and says she is Goa’s daughter. Parents don’t have an address? Can you say anything like this?” questioned the BJP national vice president.
Taking to Twitter, TMC national secretary Abhishek Banerjee demanded immediate arrest of Dilip Ghosh.
“OUTRAGEOUS! PM @narendramodi, it is ABOUT TIME to get this loose tongue arrested! Is this how @BJP4India leaders talk about the only sitting woman Chief Minister of the nation? Political mud-slinging by the likes of @DilipGhoshBJP continues to REMAIN UNCHECKED. #ShameOnBJP,” said Banerjee.
