New York: Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) on Thursday has captured several villages of Aleppo city from rival insurgents.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told ABC News the most seizures of the villages of Tal Qrah, Tal Sousin and Kfar Qares north of Aleppo city is considered to be a significant victory for the ISIS against the rebels.
The group has also managed to seize a former army base known as the Infantry Academy, which was under the administration of the rebels for two years.
According to reports, Hossein Hamedani, a senior Iran commander was killed by ISIS on the outskirts of Aleppo city, but it was yet to be confirmed whether his death had taken place during the lastest ISIS offensive.
