2 cops among 4 dead in Canada shooting spree

Fredericton : A shooting incident in Canada’s Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick province, on Friday resulted in the death of at least four people, including two police officers.

One suspect has been held, with the police saying that the situation is now under control, CNN reported.

The incident took place in the city’s Brookside Drive, and the Fredericton Police confirmed on Twitter account, “Of the four killed in morning’s shootings on Brookside Drive, two were Fredericton Police officers.”


The police said there was “no further threat to the public,” and “lockdowns are not required at this time,” adding that they have the “crime scene contained, and will be working the investigation for some time.”

New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant said, “We are all shocked and saddened.”
