Bryan (Liam Neeson) meets his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) who still loves him so her present husband Stuart warns Bryan to stay away from her. When Lenore is found dead, Bryan is arrested on suspicion of murder. Bryan escapes and discovers that Lenore was abducted at a gas station before being murdered. Bryan suspects Stuart so Stuart abducts Bryan’s daughter Kim [Maggie Grace] and tries to escape with the $12 million he’s collected from Lenore’s life insurance policy. Before Stuart’s plane can take off, Bryan overpowers Stuart and gets him arrested for Lenore’s murder. If you liked this action thriller franchise for its action sequences and Neeson, you may like the third and final instalment in the Taken trilogy which did quite well at the box office.
On a non-stop New York to London flight Marks (Liam Neeson) an alcoholic air marshal receives a text message on his phone that someone on the plane will die every 20 minutes unless $150 million is transferred into a particular bank account. As passengers keep dying mysteriously, Marks asks flight attendant Nancy and passenger Jen (Julianne Moore) to help uncover the terrorist’s identity even as it is suspected that Marks is hijacking the plane because it is his bank account. Two passengers Zack and Tom seem to be helping Marks but later it is revealed that they are both terrorists. Marks overcomes them, contains the explosion and ensures an emergency landing so that no one dies. Hailed a hero in media, Marks and Jen begin a friendship. Watch this mystery-action thriller mainly for Neeson.
A Walk Among the Tombstones
In this stylish and smart crime drama thriller, during a shootout with three hoodlums, detective Matt (Liam Neeson) accidentally shoots down a small girl so he becomes an alcoholic. Years later he is approached by Kenny who offers Matt $20,000 to find those responsible for abducting and killing his wife Carrie. The two kidnappers Ray and Albert abduct another young girl Lucia (Danielle Rose Russell). Matt ensures that Lucia is unharmed and returned to her father. Following a shootout Albert and Ray escape but street kid TJ (Brian Bradley) follows them and after noting the address, informs Matt. Albert strangles Ray and when Matt gets there, he shoots Albert. Matt returns home to find TJ sleeping and sees TJ’s sketch portraying Matt as a superhero.
The film begins with ‘Hannibal’ Smith (Liam Neeson) managing to escape from two officers who are about to kill him. With the help of fellow Ranger Baracus (Quinton Jackson), he rescues Templeton ‘Faceman’ Peck (Bradley Cooper) and they escape in a medical helicopter that is flown by eccentric pilot ‘Howling Mad’ Murdock (Sharlto Copley). Later following a secret mission they are discharged from service. When asked to undertake a secret mission, they make a deal with CIA operative Lynch and demand full reinstatement and clean records for the entire team. Hannibal, Face, BA and Murdock come together and manage to turn the tables on the ones who are trying to double-cross them. This action-packed comedy is full of thrills and went on to become a hit.
In the 18th Century, Union soldier Gideon (Pierce Brosnan) is being hunted by former Confederate officer Carver (Liam Neeson). When Carver and Gideon finally confront each other, a flashback reveals why Carver is chasing Gideon. Years ago, Gideon came to Carver’s home in Seraphim Falls and to force Carver’s wife into revealing his whereabouts and believing the house to be empty, Gideon ordered the barn to be set on fire which spread to the house. Carver returned to see his wife and son run inside the burning house to save their infant child who was still inside and they all died in the blaze. In the present, the two men fight till exhaustion but Carver decides not to shoot Gideon and the two walk away. A beautifully shot chase film, this stalk-and-kill action thriller makes full use of the great outdoors ranging from scenic wintry Oregon locales to cracked desert vistas.
