The 8th Edition of Bansuri Utsav will present stalwarts of Hindustani Classical Music including flute legend Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Tabla genius Vijay Ghate, Pakhawaj maestro Pandit Bhawani Shankar and eminent flute exponent Vivek Sonar – senior most disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia – and Atul Raninga, renowned keyboard artist. Bansuri Utsav is organized by ‘Gurukul Pratishthan’, a charitable trust founded by Vivek Sonar. The Institute was born to fuel the idea of promoting and popularizing Indian classical music, especially Bansuri, and other art forms. Radha Krishna Utsav 2016
What: The Radha Krishna Utsav organised by the Bhakti Kala Kshetra takes place every Janmashtami. To mark this celebrations Bhakti Kala Kshetra, a devotional centre for the performing arts, presents a five-day music festival, bringing together some of the most talented and renowned artists of the country on one platform. This utsav gives the artists an opportunity to use their God-gifted talents in his service with the performers singing and dancing only in praise of the Lord. The festival shall feature Pt. Shivnath Mishra, Pt. Ronu Majumdar, Mahesh Sharma, Alka Yagnik, Pandita Anuradha Pal, Soma Ghosh, Jahnavi Pandya, Verenyam Pandya and Hema Malini.

Comedy Nights with Kenneth Sebastian
What: Stand-up comedian, Kenneth Sebastian is all set take Mumbai by storm with his performance and the evening promises to be full of laughter and fun at the European themed, Dublin Square. 25 year old musician, filmmaker and a stand-up comedian, Kenneth Sebastian was raised across different cities in India which helped develop a keen sense of observation of culture, people and stereotypes, all of which have found its way into his comedy. Having performed in over 1000 shows in the last four years, written and hosted a show on Comedy Central that completed one season and having released three comedy specials online, Kenneth is well on his way to change the face of comedy in India. Baap Ka Baap
What: In the genre of spine chilling comic-drama that shakes up old-age stigmas and taboos comes yet another play by Naveen Bawa Baap Ka Baap. An edgy, thrilling, satirical and emotionally charged love story intertwined with musical outbursts of these lovable characters. The play is a study in emotional relationship of Jawan (Asrani), a doting father who raises his son Bacha (Naveen Bawa) alone, sacrificing his own needs of companionship and love. His only ambition is to see his son get married. Jawan’s life is turned upside down when he falls for a young seductive NRI girl, Namkeen (Chitrashi Rawat) and his struggles to keep this awkward relationship a secret from his son Bacha. If this wasn’t enough, his son meets a widow Mithai (Padmini Kolhapure) and takes a liking to her. And thus starts a roller-coaster ride of a high voltage drama where four souls intertwined with one thread love.

World Photography Day celebration
What: Phoenix Marketcity is all geared up to celebrate World Photography Day (August 21) in a unique way by hosting an exhibition by some of the renowned photographers in the city namely, Anoop Padalkar, Sunil Thakkar, Natasha Hemrajani, Shanth Kumar and Kalyan Varma. For photography enthusiasts various workshops will also be held at the mall. August 19 (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM): Workshop on creating photo story; August 20 (11:00 AM to 1:00 PM): Art of Seeing and career in photography; August 21 (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM): Composition and mobile photography followed by a workshop regarding pursuing career in photography.
