Ujjain: State administrative services officer Sujan Singh Rawat officially took charge as administrator of the Mahakaleshwar Temple Management Committee (MTMC) on Thursday.
On assuming office, he carried out an inspection of various departments of the temple committee and looked into ‘darshan’ arrangements. Deputy administrator, Avadhesh Sharma, assistant administrators Satish Vyas, Preeti Chouhan, Deelip Garud and SP Dixit were present during the inspection. He visited the donation and cash section and took note of donations made in gold and silver at the temple. He also directed officials to install CCTVs to improve temple security.
A formal meeting was conducted with the temple staff and officials including architect of the smart city project, Munish Pandit, urban planner Sutanu Sen, Shobhit Verma and Sumit Gehani. He also took account of ongoing development works at the Mahakal temple, Ramghat and Rudra Sagar.
Maya Singh visits Mahakal temple
Minister of urban administration and development, Maya Singh along with her husband Dhyanendra Singh visited the Mahakaleshwar temple on Thursday and did a ‘puja’ and ‘abhishek’ of the presiding deity. UDA chairman Jagdish Agrawal and CEO Abhishek Dubey accompanied her during her visit and deputy administrator Avdhesh Sharma presented her a stole and ‘prashad’.
