Ujjain: Police nail thieves involved in spate of thefts in city


Ujjain: Two burglars, including a woman, who were involved in various thefts in the city recently, were arrested by the police on Thursday.  In view of the increasing rate of thefts in the city, Madhav Nagar police station region, SP MS Verma had directed ASP (urban) Neeraj Pandey, ASP (crime) Rajesh Sahay and CSP Satish Samadhiya to formulate an action plan to arrest the thieves. Under the observation of these officials, a team led by TI of Madhav Nagar police station, Mahendra Singh Parmar was formed.

Persistent efforts of the team, resulted in the capture of two robbers from Alkapuri colony on May 18. An operation was launched, following information that a man and a woman were seen observing vacant houses in the colony and both the suspects namely Intaf Pardi, 35 resident of Bhopal and Pooja Pardi ,22, resident of Ujjain were arrested. SP Verma, stated at a press conference that upon interrogation, they revealed all their past misdeeds and the place they had stocked stolen items. The items recovered were worth 3 lakhs, including gold and silver jewellery and other expensive ornaments.

Minor thieves nabbed

The team also captured two minor boys from Rishi Nagar colony on May 18. These boys have been involved in many thefts in the region. Items worth 1 lakh, stolen from the house of Yunus Khan, Mahananda Nagar ,were recovered from them.
