Ujjain: Police mulling interstate coordination to check crime

Ujjain: Senior officials of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan police departments held a meeting on Thursday at the police superintendent’s office to discuss interstate coordination strategies to round up absconding criminals and drug mafia. The meeting was attended by ADGP V Madhukumar, SP Kota Range (Rajasthan) Vishal Bansal, DIG Ratlam Avinash Sharma, SP Manohar Singh Verma, SP Dewas Anshuman Singh and other senior officials from different districts of the state. Criminals seeking shelter in other states post crime was a matter of serious concern, officials pointed out.

Joint raids to nab criminals, information sharing on seized vehicles, interstate gangs, organised criminals and human trading were salient issues discussed at large during the meeting. Controlling criminal groups like Kanjar, Pardi and Bheel communities as well as drug mafias was also discussed.

Review meet on crime against women
A meeting to review crimes against women was also held after the coordination meeting. The meeting was convened by ADGP (Women Crimes), Aruna Mohan Rao. During the meeting, crimes of rape, dowry violence, missing boys and girls investigations and other issues related to women welfare were discussed. The meeting was attended by ADGP, V Madhukumar and other senior police officials.
