Ujjain: Under the joint aegis of Madhya Pradesh Government Punjabi Literature Academy, Punjabi Society and National Sikh Community, a play “Sahib-e-kalam” based on the life of Guru Govind Singh was organised at Shahid Park on Sunday on his 350th ‘prakash parv’. 35 artists from Patiala’s Punjabi Rangmanch institute presented the play written and directed by Arvindar Singh Pal. Rajesh Sharma played the role of Aurangzeb. Other artists were Surendra Bhaat, Vicky Singh, Pradeep Singh, Charankamal Singh and Malkeet Singh.
Chief guests were Rajya Sabha member Dr Satyanarayan Jatia, Member of Parliament Dr Chintamani Malviya and senior congress leader Manohar Bairagi. The play depicted how Govind Singh took a stand against the tortures of Mughals and united people of all communities. A large number of people of the Sikh, as well as other communities were present at Shahid Park to see the play.
