Ujjain: The opposition has demanded action against Global Waste Management Company for practising irregularities in collection of garbage. Leader of opposition, Rajendra Vasishtha wrote to the commissioner of municipal corporation (CMC), Ashish Singh, and demanded immediate action against the firm.

Vasishtha in a letter to CMC, mentioned that the company had received a payment for 300 metric tonnes of garbage per day, which was actually mixed with soil. This was brought to notice by the Congress corporator, and ultimately the firm picked up 180 metric tonnes of rubbish everyday. Now, the company was on the same track with the public paying up in the name of users charges.

Members of the opposition spotted a dumper registered, MP 13-9 H 0160 emptying soil at garbage station of the UMC. It was also found that the same dumper had emptied soil earlier causing a loss of lakhs of rupees to the UMC. The CMC has been asked to probe into the embezzlement committed by the company.
