Ujjain: Om Sharma, Jagdish Joshila conferred ‘Bheraji Samman’

Ujjain: Malavi musician Pt Om Prakash Sharma and Nimadi writer Jagdish Joshila were felicitated with the 30th Bheraji Samman. Credentials and mementos were given along with a cash prize.

Chief guest, senior writer Sharad Pagare said in his address that Bheraji was a talented folk singer and a good folk music composer. Shiv Chaurasiya in his presidential address praised Bheraji for his penchant for folk music while art critic Ashok Vakt described Bheraji as a complete folk artist.

During the ceremonial function, folk artists Ramchandra Gangoliya and Ajay Gangoliya staged their performances. Avani Shukla, Ananya Goud, Abhivruddhi Gehlod, Sushmita Panwar, Sakshi Tiwari Kaveri Bhatnagar, Jiya Randhawal and Suhani Mittal presented a Rajsthani folk dance directed by Dr Padmaja Raghuvanshi. Jayavi Vyas and Prince Patidar presented folk poems on this occasion. The welcome speech was delivered by Shriram Dave. The programme was conducted by Dr Harish Kumar Singh and vote of thanks was extended by Jayesh Bheraji.
