Ujjain: Mandi workers wear black bands to display anger over Tarana incident

Ujjain: All workers of the Ujjain Krishi Upaj Mandi wore black bands on Monday, in protest against the Tarana Krishi Upaj Mandi vice president beating up the secretary. In the afternoon, they handed over a memorandum to the collector demanding arrest of the vice president.

A few days ago, Tarana Krishi Upaj Mandi vice president, Narayan Singh Gurjar, along with his two helpers beat up secretary Kumar Singh Anare. After the incident, Anare was treated at the ENT department of the civil hospital. Mandi officers and workers furious over the incident said the administration should ensure safety of the workers and arrest Gurjar. The workers informed that similar protests were being held in the Ujjain and Indore divisions and this would continue till the culprit was arrested.
