Ujjain: Heeding collector Sanket Bhondve’s and energy minister Paras Jain’s suggestion, a farmer Pratap Singh, has donated a stretch of land from Radharaman and Gopeshwar Mahadev temples for the road leading to Government Kalidas Girls’ college, currently under construction.

The college is being built near Ramjanardhan temple at Piplinaka Square. The route that leads to college is muddy and has to be laid with concrete for easy navigation. The collector and minister visited the college on Friday and reviewed the development work.

The public works development department has been instructed by the collector to complete construction within a time frame for which funds will be provided by the Ujjain Municipal Corporation. The total cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 9 crore. The development of the project will be closely watched by administrative officers during the weekly timeline meetings. Jain also spoke to the electricity department to complete the light fittings in the building on time.
